REGISTRATION PROCESS
Tryouts will require a digital pre-registration via Google Forms.
1. Register with the Ohio Valley Region via SportsEngine
  • Register BEFORE the day of tryouts.
  • PROOF of this membership must be brought with you on the day of tryouts to show at check in.
    • ​The player will not be allowed to enter until this membership card is sent or shown!

  • CHECK OR CASH ONLY, non-refundable tryout fee
    • Checks made payable to the Clippard YMCA
      • ​NOT PAYABLE TO CYVBC SURGE

What to Bring Day of Tryouts
1. OVR Membership Proof via SportsEngine
2. USA Volleyball Medical Release Form
3. Tryout Fee
  • Check (payable to Clippard YMCA; NOT Surge) or 
​4. Water bottle
Athlete Selection:
We select athletes based on the following criteria: ability to be trained, willingness to be a team player, athletic ability for volleyball, athletic potential, work ethic, drive, attitude, sportsmanship and current skill ability.

What to expect after tryouts:
At the end of each tryout period, the coaching staff will meet to determine which girls will be offered a contract to participate in our program, and which girls will receive an alternate position. Player's tryout numbers will be posted under the 'TRYOUT RESULTS' tab if an offer or alternate position is given. The position must be accepted by a certain date (see below).

Athletes from all schools are welcome to tryout for Surge - a YMCA membership is not needed. All athletes will wear a tryout number provided by the club. Tryouts are closed to parents. Athletes aspiring to be a part of Surge will be evaluated on skill execution. We base our selections on what the athletes do during the tryout period and what we perceive their potential to be.

If your daughter is offered a spot on one of our teams, you will have until a specific deadline (which is posted under each age group above) to accept or decline that offered spot. After that deadline, we will give that spot to an alternate player listed!
