CYVBC Surge Winter Camp!
|
THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO ATTENDED OUR WINTER CAMP! We look forward to next year's camp. Be on the lookout for those dates in September/October 2025!
Come join us for a winter camp to either enhance your skills before the club season, learn new skills, meet new friends / teammates, or get some reps! **YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE A CYVBC SURGE ATHLETE TO ATTEND THIS CAMP! All players are welcome!** |
DAY 1: SERVING, PASSING, DEFENSE
Day 1 we will talk a lot about the importance of serve receive. Serving and passing are two of the most valuable parts of the game!! We will work on the fundamentals to further develop, or teach, basic skills, of both aspects. We will dive a bit into defense, as well! You do not have to be a libero to attend this clinic. EVERYONE is welcome!! Everyone serves and passes in practice and could potentially do so in high school or college (yes, even if you are currently a middle blocker!), so why not work on it?
**THEME OF THE NIGHT WILL BE CHRISTMAS!**
DAY 2: SETTING, ATTACKING, BLOCKING
Day 2, we will discuss the important of not only putting up a “set-able” ball for your setter, but also setters putting up a “hit-able” ball for their attackers, and attackers working on all different tools to adjust to all different sets. You do not necessarily have to be a setter nor an attacker to attend day 2! We will work on the basics of setting and attacking before diving a bit into blocking. Players will walk out of the gym feeling better about their fundamentals!
**THEME OF THE NIGHT WILL BE A "BLUE OUT"!**
DAY 3: BALL CONTROL, GAME PLAY
Day 3, we will begin with some ball control to debrief the weekend before diving into game play. We will work on different rotations, the importance of rotations, how to adjust, how to communicate, when to communicate, and more! We will also play holiday games with prizes throughout the night!
**THEME OF THE NIGHT WILL BE "BEST BRAID"!**
We hope to see everyone as we host our second winter camp in 2025. We are looking forward to it!
