The following protocols will be mandated for all Surge athletes. The quarantine guidelines have been issued by the CDC and adopted by the Ohio Dept. of Health.
- Masks and face coverings are required to be worn to the YMCA and remain on at all times until the girls are actively practicing in the GYM.
(Coaches must keep masks on at all times unless actively participating in a drill) - All athletes are to follow social distancing procedures from YMCA members/staff.
- Hand sanitizer is located at all entrances, athletes will use prior to entering the gym area.
- All practice schedules will be maintained by the club directors to assist with contact tracing.
COVID-19 Contact Tracing
Surge directors must be notified immediately via email if an athlete has been in contact with an individual who has tested positive for COVID-19, the athlete themselves have tested positive for COVID-19, or the athlete is awaiting a test result for themselves or someone they live with. If the athlete is determined by school or the Health Department to quarantine, Surge directors must be notified immediately via email with the date the athlete was exposed to COVID-19 or when the athlete tested positive.
THESE GUIDELINES FOLLOW OVR/USAV PROTOCOLS
If you TEST POSITIVE:
1) quarantine for a minimum of 5 days, if asymptomatic after 5 days you may leave quarantine and are recommended to wear a mask for another 5 days.
2) if a fever still exist after the initial 5 days, remain in isolation until the fever goes away; recommended to wear a mask for another 5 days.
If you were EXPOSED:
(UNVACCINATED individuals or those more than 6 months out from their last shot and not yet boosted):
1) QUARANTINE for a minimum of 5 days and follow strict mask use for an additional 5 days.
(VACCINATED + BOOSTER):
1) NO QUARANTINE REQUIRED, recommended use of mask for up to 10 days RECOMMENDED – Everyone exposed should get a Covid-19 test 5 days after exposure!
It is vital that ALL of our athletes and parents take this matter seriously. Safety is the priority! Our athletes deserve an opportunity to compete in a safe environment. As COVID conditions change, there will be adjustments made by State and local Health Departments.
